Since opening my Etsy shop, alongside the shop on www.martathelegend.com (mtl), I have been working on innovating new costume methods/materials. To start, I purchased a welding machine with cutting rollers which I designed myself (the rollers, not the machine LOL). The learning process with the machine has been a few months. I still have to test a larger variety of materials. But so far, the faux suede has produced the best results.
I produced several meters of lace trimming which is for sale in my mtl shop and my Designer Marta Etsy shop. Oh, and on Facebook on my page (Marta the Legend Designs), and on Instagram.
I also experimented with thin vinyl. I would give the result a 7 out of 10 rating with the machine. I needed to clean up the edges pretty extensively because the vinyl had a textile backing. But… the end product looks terrific! Due to the extensive cleanup, I have decided not to market the vinyl lace, but to use it for my next production of costumes.
